Mike Kelley has lived in Summit County since 1988 and is proud to be a Colorado native! He was born in Denver and while he may have learned to talk in Oklahoma he will always remind you he learned to walk in Colorado. Mike finished his academic career in Texas, where he perfected his strong southern drawl. Being an avid hunter, fisherman, and snowmobiler, Summit County seemed like the perfect place to call home after marrying Moraima Kelley in April of 1988. Mike will tell you Summit County was a fun place to raise their three daughters. Tara, their oldest daughter is a school teacher at Summit Cove Elementary just down the street from the house where she was was raised. Their middle daughter, Mia, traded in her snowboard for a surf board and sought out a place where palm trees and beaches are business as usual in San Diego, California . Their youngest, Sierra, is finishing high school at Summit High and is still trying to convince her dad that school is over-rated and her time would be better spent maximizing her ski bum potential. You won’t hear Mike knock the idea as he has snow-skied since he was 14, but now spends most of his slope time on a snowboard because he likes the comfort of snow board boots better than his ski boots. (Plus he couldn’t let his daughters be better at any sport than him.) When he’s not rippin’ the shred stick or hunting you might find him hiking or snowshoeing in the back-country. Since Mike has lived in Summit County for nearly 3 decades, he knows the community as well as the surrounding land and mountains like the back of his hand. His familiarity of Summit County combined with his 30 plus years of networking makes him the perfect realtor to sell your house or help you find that special ski home or ranch property in Colorado’s high country.
