The Breckenridge PRCA ProRodeo started up in 2012 during the summers on Saturday and Sunday evenings. The rodeo featured activities for children, including Mutton Busting and Calf Scramble, as well as exciting rodeo events, including:
- Barrel Racing – dashing horses and their riders running a cover-leaf pattern around barrels
- Bull Riding – bucking bulls given 8 seconds to buck off riders
- Saddle Bronc – riders holding only lead rope given 8 seconds to remain in the saddle of bucking horses
- Bareback Riding – instead of lead rope, writers use a handle
- Tie-Down Roping – single cowboy ropes and dismounts to restrain it quickly
- Team Roping – two cowboys race to rope a steer and wrestle it to the ground
